My iMac desktop is very clean with no folders or shortcuts. It is “time-consuming” and more steps to take if I wish to open some folders in the finder. Hence, I decided to make some folder and application shortcuts to the desktop for easier access. This is a very simple tutorial to show you how easy you can make your own shortcuts with iMac Mac OS X. I’ve made a very short video to show you how to create the shortcut to desktop for Mac Applications and Folders. Follow the steps below to check out the tutorial.
- Go to Finder.
- Go to the Applications folder.
- Press Option + Command + Drag the selected application to Desktop.
- The shortcut has been made.
- Follow the same steps from step 1 to step 4 to create shortcuts for your folders.
